The dental
"check-up" is now better named a "recare appointment."
It involves so much more than just "looking at teeth for cavities
and gum disease." The following is what is normally included in an
examination visit at Sheridan Dental Clinic:
- Evaluation of past medical and dental history which may affect treatment
- Visual examination of the oral cavity (teeth and soft tissues; lips,
tongue, cheeks, floor of the mouth, palate, throat)
- Oral cancer screening
- Prophylaxis (cleaning) of the teeth
- Oral Hygiene instructions
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Necessary x-rays
- Topical fluoride treatment
- Treatment planning according to x-ray findings and patient needs
- Treatment scheduling and financial arrangements, as appropriate
- Friendly, frank, honest, and confidential discussion about any
of your oral health needs
